"Caution: Watch for sweepers."
Now that is a warning many hitters would have liked prior to seeing Justin Lawrence's signature pitch before they swung and missed. It's also a highway sign that Lawrence himself saw while driving the other night.
The Rockies' 28-year-old reliever is on the rise, and it's thanks largely to his devastating sweeper -- a slider with a very prominent horizontal "sweeping" movement.
Lawrence owns a 3.07 ERA (167 ERA+) for Colorado, and ranks in the top 15 percent of qualified pitchers in expected batting average against him (.200), expected slugging percentage (.297), expected ERA (2.76) and barrel rate (4%).
Lawrence tweeted a picture of the sign with an apt caption because, well, what else can you say but "Lol."

Perhaps they should take that sign and hang it somewhere batters can see it at Coors Field whenever Lawrence is summoned from the bullpen.
